Saul Weisleder is the deputy permanent representative of the
Permanent Mission of Costa Rica to the United Nations. He studied
economics and sociology in Costa Rica and development studies in
IDS Sussex University, U.K. He has been Dean of the School of Social
Sciences at the National University in Costa Rica and consultant
to several international and national organizations. Weisleder has
published several books in Costa Rica and, most recently, edited
the first book on “CAFTA.” He was elected a member of
the Costa Rican parliament in 1994 and served as President from
1997 to 1998. |
