Barbara Wolfe is Richard A Easterlin Professor of Health Economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she is also a professor in the departments of economics and population health sciences and the Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs, and faculty affiliate of the Institute for Research on Poverty. Her research focuses broadly on poverty and health issues. She is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. Her recent articles have appeared in the Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Human Resources, JAMA Pediatrics, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Economy Inquiry, Journal of Health Economics, and Demography. Her books include:

• The Biological Consequences of Socioeconomic Inequalities (coedited with W. Evans and T. Seeman; Russell Sage Foundation, 2012); and
• Succeeding Generations: On the Effects of Investments in Children (with R. Haveman; Russell Sage Foundation, 1994).

Wolfe received a BA in economics from Cornell University and an MA and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
