Jens Bonke, M.A. (econ), Ph.D. Institute of Economics. University of Copenhagen, Head of globalization, society and welfare research program at the Danish National Institute of Social Research. His major fields of research interests are on income distribution, poverty, time-use and time-allocation, the distribution of resources within and between households, welfare studies, and related gender issues. Among recent research projects are to be mentioned: A study on pension savings behavior; the prevalence of gambling/ludomania; the obesity problem within a time-use framework; poverty in Chechnya applying household expenditure data; a study on time and welfare on time use data; studies on intra-family allocation of resources, including the decision-making process and power-relations within the family, and the distribution of consumption. The data used are from longitudinal time use data and register information, as well data from the European Community Household Panel. He has published articles in e.g. Review of Income and Wealth, Electronic International Journal of Time Use, Journal of Income Distribution, Journal of Consumer Studies and Home Economics, Social Indicator Research, and in "The Economics of Time Use" edited by Hamermesh and Phann and "Changing Life Patterns" edited by Giele and Holst.
