James Mahmud Rice is a Research Associate in Social and Political Theory at the Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University. Prior to moving to the ANU he was at the Social Policy Research Centre at the University of New South Wales. His current research includes a study of discretionary time (with Robert Goodin and Antti Parpo) and an investigation into the dynamics of income inequality in seven capitalist societies, as well as a range of smaller projects concerned with the allocation of income and time.
