Ramaa Vasudevan is currently a visiting assistant professor at
Barnard College, New York. She has taught in the Sustainable International
Development program at Brandeis University and at PGDAV College,
University of Delhi, India. Her Ph.D. in economics from New School
University, New York, focused on the political economy of international
trade and finance, while her M.Phil., Centre for Development Studies,
Trivandrum, India, was a study about the evolution of labor markets
in colonial India. Her main research interests are the macroeconomics
and political economy of development. She has been active in the
civil rights and women’s movement in India. The relation between
development and democracy is in important aspect of her research
interests. |
