Master Graduate in Sociology, Salimata Bocoum is complementing her PhD in the same area. She has a total of 7 years of professional experience in management, project design and proposal development in the NGO’ sector. As Regional Program Coordinator of the African Women Millennium Initiative on Poverty and Human Right (AWOMI) she’s participated in the designing, planning and she’s responsible for implementation and evaluation of programs targeting women and girls in Africa and its Diaspora. She has successfully completed good research work among them being on Fistula and HIV/AIDS. She’s also a West Africa focal point person representative and board members for AMANITARE program which deals with Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for women and girls in Africa. She traveled throughout Africa and the US to participate at different conference on issues ranging from poverty analysis, Sexual Reproductive Health and Right and HIV/AIDS assessment, gender and development in various forum such as the AWOMI second social Mobilization on women socio-economic rights in Lusaka, Zambia, the 3rd Africa Conference on Sexual Health and Rights in Abuja, Nigeria, the Commission of the Status of Women (CSW), New York, USA and the International AIDS Conference in Mexico City.
