Nouhoun Coulibaly has earned a PHD in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1997. Upon returning to his home country, Nouhoun has held several positions in academia and research institutions, and is currently the Head of the Department of Studies, Research, and Engineering at the National Statistical Office of Côte d’Ivoire. Over recent years, he has conducted several surveys and studies on gender, which include:
a project on compiling gender statistics;
a project on integrating gender in the Côte d’Ivoire 2008 poverty survey;
a project on collaborating with UNFEM on integrating gender in the Côte d’Ivoire PRSP.
Nouhoun is very interested in the course as it is very relevant to his work in national planning. The Knowledge gained after the course will be helpful for improving his work in national planning. It will also be used to give several courses in economic and gender to colleagues and other gender experts in the sub region of West Africa.
