After graduating from The Warsaw School of Economics (Economics, Finance & banking) Grzegorz Konat, MA, continues to work and study at WSE as a PhD candidate affiliated to The Chair of Economic Policy. He also works for The Institute for Market, Consumption and Business Cycles Research, where he is a part of the research group analyzing competitiveness of the enterprises. In his professional work he is focused on the problems of the labor market in Poland, including possibility of implementing the full employment solutions (e.g. through the Employer of Last Resort proposal).  Grzegorz is a co-author of two reports on labor market in the tourism sector in Poland, as well as of several press articles and translations from English covering the issue of the ELR. In his previous research he devoted myself to the problem of Polish exports and its impact on economic growth and to the microeconomic problems of the Free/Open Source Software. Additionally, he is strongly interested in comparative economics and economic policy, including the problem of discrimination (e.g. racial discrimination, sexism, ageism) in the economy and methods to overcome it. Economic sexism is one of the most urgent problems in contemporary Polish economy, which he characterizes in his recent work – a book chapter recapitulating the last two decades of capitalism in Poland. This is the area where his strong interests and gender economics meet.
