Smriti Rao is Assistant Professor of Economics at Assumption College in Worcester MA, where she teaches economic development and international trade. She is interested in issues of gender and agrarian change, the effects of neo-liberal policies upon 'social provisioning', and has more recently become interested in the issue of human trafficking.
