Ewa Ruminska-Zimny is currently Associate Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics, Poland. Previously she held various positions within the United Nations system in New York and Geneva. She conducted research and worked as senior economist with teams preparing World Economic and Social Surveys and Human Development Reports. At the UN Economic Commission for Europe she established and run Gender and Economy programme based on feminist economics, and was responsible for regional reviews of progress in gender equality under the Beijing process. Her research and work experience focus on socio-economic changes, human development and gender equality in Eastern and Central Europe, Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus.  She has PhD in international economics from the Warsaw School of Economics and is the author of many papers and publications.
