Two years after working at the DWRC Mira Said enrolled in the Labour Policies and Globalization Master Program in Germany. After coming back she has done research on the current challenges of the Palestinian labour movement as part of a series of studies done by DWRC to raise awareness levels on political and socio-economic issues among trade unionists in Palestine, especially women.

Focusing during her study on labour issues, trade unions and its relation to economics and globalization opened her eyes to new areas in this field and its importance for her work and life. In addition, it increased her potentials in work on Palestine and in the region by connecting the local and regional issues to the global ones.

Mira’s studies came to support her educational role with the Palestinian laborers, especially women. Through her work, Mira tries to empower women in specific and workers in general in different levels: culturally, economically and in their union work. Not to forget raising knowledge on the international economical issues specially the current financial crisis, reasons, its impact on the American, European economy and how it is affecting the South.
