Riccardo Bellofiore

Riccardo Bellofiore was formerly Professor of Political Economy at the University of Bergamo, Italy. He wrote his dissertation on Rosa Luxemburg under the supervision of Claudio Napoleoni in Turin in 1976 and was part of the Seminar on Monetary Theory led by Augusto Graziani in Naples from 1981 to 1985. His research focuses on monetary theory, capitalist development, and the history of economic thought. He has written extensively on Hyman Minsky, Keynes, Graziani and the monetary circuit, as well as on Schumpeter, Kalecki, Pasinetti, Sraffa, and Marx. His work explores the relations between money and finance, accumulation, structural change, and the evolving institutional forms of capitalism. With Piero Ferri, he edited two volumes on the economic legacy of Hyman Minsky. He also edited and introduced the Italian edition of Minsky’s Ending Poverty: Jobs, Not Welfare and wrote a new introduction to the 2009 Italian edition of Minsky’s John Maynard Keynes, published as Keynes e l’instabilità del capitalismo (Bollati Boringhieri).
