Mila Malyshava is the assistant professor of economics at Skidmore College. She holds her PhD from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Her interdisciplinary teaching and research interests lie in the fields of international economics, economic history, and economics of inequality. Mila’s classes encompass fields of international trade and finance, the impact of globalization, comparative economic systems, and inequality. Her current research focuses on the incidence and effectiveness of economic and military coercion; equalizing effects of social security programs; the analysis of lagging transition economies of the former socialist states; and innovative pedagogy.
